Sylvia Marson’s recent work includes:

• editing a code of ethics for the Australian Society of Social Workers
• editing a governance review for the Australian Rugby Union
• assessing and advising on a romance manuscript
• writing units of competency for a national training package
• writing website content for a small business
• editing an anthology of short stories
• copy editing, structurally editing and proof reading higher education and secondary textbooks
• proof reading promotional brochures for small- to medium-sized businesses
• proof reading (and checking the references) on PhDs and theses.

Sylvia has been a full-time editor since 2001. She has edited, proof read and assisted in the design and layout of a wide range of textbooks, resources and academic reference materials across the primary, secondary and higher education sectors. Sylvia was one of the first accredited editors in Australia, having successfully sat the Institute of Professional Editors’ inaugural national accreditation exam in 2008. As such, she is fully conversant with the Australian standards for editing practice and the principles of Plain English. Sylvia is also an experienced writer and project manager, and is a member of the Queensland Society of Editors and the Queensland Writers Centre.
